Teacher Testimonial:
I have been able to see how BizFest has transformed my students in various ways. Now my students see a purpose to their academic work. They understand the bigger picture, that there is something more than high school and getting a part time job. I think that BizFest has opened up new doors that they didn't even know were available to them. When my student came back he became more determined to excel in his work.

I also think that BizFest provided my students the opportunity to get to know who they are outside of all the social barriers that they face in their everyday life. My student has a stronger self conviction and has become a leader in the classroom.

BizFest also opened my mind into other ways of interacting with students. It enhance my belief that students have to value themselves in order to achieve any academic or life goal.

I really enjoyed being part of BizFest and would like to volunteer next year.

2010 Press Release

Tucson, AZ, April 26, 2010: The Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation once again presented the Latino BIZfest (formerly known as The Latino Youth Entrepreneurship Program) in Tucson Arizona at the Pima Community College Desert Vista Campus, May 12th through the 15th 2010. The program is designed to provide youth ages 18 to 24 from Pima, Cochise, Yuma and Santa Cruz Counties unparalleled opportunities for mentorship and one-on-one exchange with top regional business executives. This year the Latino BIZfest will prepare 100 youth in developing and understanding of the business process and convert an idea into a viable business project. In turn, participants will apply this to the creation of their own business idea presentation. On the fourth day of training participants take part in a business presentation competition by presenting a five minute dissertation of their business idea to a panel of judges. Selected winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) will receive scholarship awards. This program is made possible by an Innovation Frontier Arizona WIRED grant.
