Ribbon Cuttings and Grand Opening Ceremonies




What is it? An event celebrating a new location or new ownership. The Grand Opening can be held at any time and generally includes entertainment, food, drinks and an invitation to THCC membership. The ribbon cutting ceremony is attended to by THCC staff and occurs over a one hour period. This service is provided to THCC members at no cost.





What does the THCC Provide?
Invitation to membership and/or board members via an eblast (two week notice is required)
Recognition and Photo on the THCC website Grand Opening page
An opportunity for the owner to write an article for an upcoming El Informe newsletter about the Grand Opening
Photos placed on the THCC Facebook Fan Page

What happens during the Ribbon Cutting?
The THCC staff arrives one hour prior to the ribbon cutting. During the ceremony, the Staff provides a certificate of celebration, red ribbon, oversized scissors and arrives with the THCC banner. In most cases, a THCC photographer is also on site. The owner and employees are assembled in front of the building for a photo opportunity with the THCC banner. The certificate is read to the audience and congratulations is provided.

How can the owner prepare?
The owner has many alternatives depending on the number of people who may attend.
Invitation to elected officials and other VIP
Invitation to entire THCC membership, Public, THCC board members, etc.
Food (Appetizers, Pizza, Catered Meal, etc)
Entertainment (Mariachi, DJ, Dancers, etc)
Presentation of awards to employees

Hiring a radio station for a “live” remote
Press Release prior to or following the event
Balloons / Tents / Streamers
